Project Overview
Naya Rhythm is a six-month project starting in May 2025 for women seeking asylum and refugees. The project aims to improve fitness through Indian dance.

Participants will take part in fortnightly two-hour sessions led by professional Indian dance facilitator Minoti Parikh, where they will learn Bharatanatyam, a dance form that enhances fitness, balance, and mental well-being in a safe, supportive environment.
​
This project aims to make physical activity accessible, enjoyable, and culturally sensitive, encouraging participants to integrate exercise into their routines for long-term health benefits.
Project Outcomes
Over the course of the project, participants will:

Improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and muscle strength.

Develop increased confidence in physical activity and develop a sustainable exercise routine.

Benefit from social connection and mental well-being support.

Enhance balance and coordination, improving mobility.

Build long-term habits of physical activity through accessible, fun and culturally sensitive exercise.

Be encouraged to continue their fitness journey through peer support.
Project Offer
Naya Rhythm offers:
