Project Overview
Inside Out is a city-wide parenting course for women who have children being looked after by someone else. This can be through adoption, foster care, or any other kind of kinship or special guardianship order.

Inside Out is a 13-week closed course to help strengthen parenting skills and improve mental well-being through understanding how previous or current domestic violence or exploitation has impacted on women and their parenting. Sessions include understanding the impact of domestic abuse on women and children, understanding child development, managing stress and anxiety, and developing boundaries.
Project Outcomes
By the end of the course, women will:
Develop coping strategies that allow them to better manage difficult emotions such as stress and anxiety
Develop coping strategies to better manage stressful situations
Increase their knowledge about the impact of trauma
Increase their knowledge about the impact of abuse, both in women and children
Increase their knowledge on child and brain development

Our Inside Out project is currently full, but we are still accepting referrals for our waiting list. The
current funding is due to end in July 2025. While we hope to secure further funding to continue this service beyond this date, we cannot guarantee this.
