Understanding the impact of child removal on women: a compassionate approach is a full-day, in-person training that is co-produced and co-delivered with mums with lived experience of child removal. The training is designed to share our knowledge built from years of specialist work in the field, bringing mums' voices and experiences to the forefront for professionals.

This course is for anyone who works with mums and families who have experienced child removal.

Participants will:

Gain up-to-date knowledge of childcare proceedings, current practices and legal requirements

Develop a greater understanding of the various reasons why children are removed

Develop a deeper awareness of the profound impact child removal has on women, enhancing our ability to provide empathetic and effective support

Feel confident in making your service open and welcoming to women whose children live elsewhere

Be able to reflect on how you can work compassionately while maintaining professional boundaries

Identify your own support needs when working in this field.
This course runs from 9:30am - 4:30pm. The Leeds venue address will be given before the event.
